Corrosion goes into the cuts first. On an engraved object that means the marks get louder as the thing decays, which is the opposite of what anyone expects and the reason I keep making instruments.
The graduations are real, taken from an oil measure in the applied arts store that I spent a winter cleaning. I did not copy the object. I copied the arithmetic.
Somebody at the Estufa show worked out that the scale is in okka and told the room. That was a good evening.
