Copper is the only material I work in that ends up brighter than it began. Everything else darkens and stays dark; copper goes brown, then black, then somewhere around a hundred years it turns and starts to glow.
The split is where the folded seam gave out. I took the fold from a real roof edge in Cihangir, three streets from the studio, photographed from a neighbor's window on a promise to send her a print.
She has the print. It is the only one of these that exists twice.
